Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the BookClub platform, you accept these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any provision, please do not use the service.

2. Right to Use

To use BookClub, you must:

• Be at least 13 years old
• Provide accurate and current information during registration
• Maintain the security of your account
• Comply with applicable Ukrainian legislation

3. Code of Conduct

By using the platform, you agree to:

• Prohibited Content: Not post illegal, abusive, threatening, defamatory, or pornographic content.
• Respect for Others: Respect other users and their opinions.
• Property Rights: Not violate copyrights when adding book information and covers.
• Security: Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the system or other users' data.

4. Disclaimer of Financial Transactions

BookClub is a platform for tracking and sharing information about books between friends. We do NOT conduct any financial transactions, do NOT process payments, do NOT act as intermediaries in buying or selling books or other goods, and do NOT guarantee the safety of any agreements between users. Any financial or commercial transactions between users (including selling, buying, renting books, or otherwise) are carried out at the participants' own risk. We are not liable for fraud, deception, non-receipt of goods or money, or any other damages arising from such transactions. Users are solely responsible for verifying counterparties and transaction terms. We recommend being cautious and using secure exchange methods.

5. Book Clubs

BookClub provides tools for organizing book clubs. Club administrators are responsible for moderating content and member behavior in their clubs. We reserve the right to remove clubs that violate these Terms.

6. Intellectual Property

Content you create on the platform (book descriptions, reviews, notes) remains your property. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use this content to provide and improve the service.

• Club names and descriptions
• Added book information
• Reviews and ratings
• Public notes (private notes are accessible only to you)

The BookClub platform, its design, logo, and code remain our intellectual property.

7. Limitation of Liability

BookClub is provided on an "as is" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service operation and are not liable for any damages related to platform use. Book information is provided from public sources (Google Books API) and may contain inaccuracies.

8. Book Loan Tracking

The book loan tracking feature is intended for organizational purposes within the club. BookClub is not responsible for the actual transfer of physical books between members. All loan arrangements occur between users.

9. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or delete your account in case of violation of these Terms or at our discretion without prior notice. You can delete your account at any time through profile settings.

10. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the platform. Continued use of the service after changes means acceptance of updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Ukrainian law. All disputes are resolved in accordance with Ukrainian legislation.
